Pores: Open or Closed?

Half of acne medicine says something like; ';opens your pores and soothes them so they can breathe';


The other half says ';closes your pores so oils can't get in and cause blockages';


Which of these philosophies is correct, is acne caused by the pores being open or by the pores being closed?Pores: Open or Closed?

actually, neither, your pores dont open and close, hen dirt builds up in your pores they can appear to be ';open'; and when they are clean can appear to be ';closed'; however they really do not open and close
