Does sweat clog pores?

A simple answer, no.

Sweating is actually good for your pores! That's why they have steam saunas and dry saunas. Sweating helps flush your pores. It gets all the sweat out, opens them up, and is sort of like an under the skin clean out.

What clogs your pores is pretty much anything else. From dirt to dust, anything can do the trick. There is so much dust in the air and when you sweat, dirt and dust may actually be more likely to stick to you. So if you don't wash your face, they may clog a pore.

A good way to avoid clogged pores is simply laying a hot rag over your face. After a few minutes, flip it over and rub your face. You don't have to wash with anything. Just the warm water. Then splash cold water on your face. This will close'em back up so stuff doesn't get in them right away. If you were going to use a face wash though, I would recommend Clean and Clear. Comes in a little purple bottle, you push down on the top and get foam. Super easy to use. (:Does sweat clog pores?
Sweat cleans your pores, but if you allow it to just sit on the skin, yes it will clog your pores.

  • Oily skin. Large pores.?

I have very oily skin, and pores that you can see from a distance(lol). Kidding, but yeah my pores are noticeable to me when I look in the mirror. Any suggestions on what to use to control the oil and hide the pores?Oily skin. Large pores.?
Use a good oil free moisturizer at night. This keeps your skin from overproducing oil. Drink lots of water to keep your skin hydrated. Again, this slows the production of oil. Use a good quality make-up (spend a little extra for the really good stuff, like Clinique). As you age, these problems will lessen.Oily skin. Large pores.?

I seen makeup that is supposed to conceal and even shrink pores. google it you should be able to find it

    -good luckHelp on pores?
OK, there are conflicting opinions about this, so I will tell you what my fashion/beauty research and my experience have taught me. Heat makes pores open, so I used cold water and even ice cubes on my face which did reduce the pores (not too much, don't want to freeze your skin). Use a a very cold cloth on your face until it starts to get warm (heat = opening the pores). Now, most experts these days say you can't close the pores, but I think you can because I did it. BUT you can't close them all together without laser treatment, which is an option of course. I also used a very good pore reducer mask from Avon and one from Boots, but any that say they reduce pores will work very well if it's one you peel off--that worked the best out of everything I ever do. I used to do it once a week and now I only use it once a month, so there was lots of improvement (don't use it too much or you burn you're skin). You can buy very good products like ones from Clinque which will smooth your skin so your makeup sits better and makes your pores less obvious. But wash makeup off at night with cool water. Many say toner or astringent helps but it never did a blasted thing for me and frankly made my skin worse because it actually burned it. Go to a makeup counter for a skin consultation. That's your best bet.
    here are some tips

    1. wash ur face each day and night

    2. dont pick at them because they will get infected

    3. Put a little bit of toothpaste on them to make them shrink( it may sting but that means its working)

    4. go to the dermatologist and get a microderm

    Good luck! :)
Same problem here until I found Mychelle White Cranberry Cleanser and Suki Naturals toner. You can get them both at New Seasons grocery store. I also purchase the cleanser on Amazon.com sometimes. Both products helped my pores shrink, good luck!

    Question about pores?

i have huge pores...my question is this, is there any vegetables, fruits, i can eat for healthy skin?Question about pores?
    YES!

Brightly colored fruits and veggies are full of antioxidants and make skin glow. Good choices are oranges, mangoes, berries (all kinds), beets, avocado, carrots, spinach, apples, apricots, nectarines, peppers (sweet bell)... Anything with a beautiful, natural color is usually great for your skin. Also, olives (and it's oil) as well as nuts and seeds are great too.

    Clear skin,pores, and stuff :S?

Well i went to the docs' and i have been on minnocycline. This cleared me up really well :D I'm still on it atm actually. But even though my skin has cleared up my pores around my nose still seem enlarged :( i use a toner and it does seem to help a little and tighten my face but they are still visible. And i know pores are visible but i think they still could be smaller. I also use moisturizers so i'm not doing anything wrong, am i?

help appreciated :) xClear skin, pores, and stuff :S?
Do you splash your face with cold water after you wash? If you don't, then this helps close the pores.

Something you could do, if you don't mind the thought of it, is take an egg and seperate the egg white from the yolk. Stir the egg white until it's frothy. Put it on your face and let it dry (will probably take about 15 minutes). Wash off and use whatever cleanser you use. Moisturize like usual.

This helps tighten the pores. You shouldn't do this more than 2-3 times a week. I wouldn't even do 3, because your face will adjust and later on this won't help it and you'll be, like, immune or something XD

Good luck :)Clear skin, pores, and stuff :S?
    Well, they sell pore minimizers.

Go to Wal-Mart or any drug store and go to the make-up isle or where face wash is.

I know Biore sells one but there should be tons of other brands as well.

I would get pore strips or anything that will wash them out and then use the pore minimizer.
just know that hot water opens pores and cold closes them. hope i helped:)

  • Shrink enlarge pores! HELP ME?

Wow, so i noticed the other day that my pores are looking slightly enlarged! What can i do to stop this...? or at lest mask it?! I know CLINQUE makes some pore crap to minimize them but i want something that i can use like a cream...?Shrink enlarge pores! HELP ME?
Cleanse and rinse. Natural oils can build up beneath pores and cause bacteria to grow. Wash your face thoroughly but not aggressively. Use a mild cleanser that is meant for your skin type--dry, normal, oily or combination skin. Make sure to rinse skin completely to eliminate soapy residue.

Use a toner on your skin to diminish blemishes. Delicate rose water toners smell beautiful as well as do the job.

Exfoliate the dead skin cells. A gentle scrub with a grainy texture will remove dead skin which could clog pores. Exfoliating also allows other products to penetrate your skin more effectively.

Mask it. Apply a mask to your face to draw out dirt from deep within the pores. Don't rub harshly or the skin could become damaged and develop further skin complications. Try mixing almond meal with water to make a natural mask and let it sit for approximately 20 minutes before rinsing.

Draw in pore size. Have a professional facial and/or extraction to minimize overall pore appearance. Eliminating blackheads can tighten pores and give the visible appearance of shrinking.

Use additional products like antioxidant creams to reduce the effects of over exposure to sun and pollutants. You'll feel rejuvenated too.

Maintain your skins restoration with a regular cleansing and moisturizing regime. Healthy skin makes you look radiant and feel great.Shrink enlarge pores! HELP ME?
    Egg yolk%26amp; Egg white mask.

    Egg white:

Separate the egg yolk from the egg white. Squeeze a bit of lemon juice in the egg white. Whisk it until it is frothy, then spread onto your face and leave it on for fifteen minutes. Wash off.

This will tighten your skin, therefore, minimizing the pores. It's also great in getting rid of breakouts.

    Egg Yolk:

Loaded with Vitamin A and smooths out your skin

Smush the egg Yolk from the egg white you separated it from until it is spreadable. Spread it on your face. Leave on for fifteen munites and wash off.

Remember to save the left over yolk and whites in separate bowls for next time! :D

    Good luck! %26lt;3

    Boiling water / pores?

so if i open my pores by using boiling water and let the steam hit my face, can i use my proactive steps after instead of using water to close the pores ??? Witch way is better to keep the bacteria and pores not unclogged ?Boiling water / pores?
Using steam to open pores is very damaging for your skin. And ProActive isn't the best way to get rid of acne, either. Instead, try this:

First -- stop using bar soap. The stuff that holds bar soap together (including clear bars) will clog your pores. Get a face cleanser that isn't greasy. If it leaves a film on your face after rinsing with water, it's too greasy.

Second -- Get a 1-2% BHA product. BHA is a chemical exfoliant, and it will dissolve the oil in your pores so that pimples don't start. Apply in the morning. More info on BHA here: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article鈥?/a>

Third -- Either use pure tea tree oil or benzoyl peroxide on areas prone to breakouts at night. Be careful with benzoyl peroxide as it will bleach clothes and hair.

Fourth -- don't use a really greasy moisturizer/foundation, and make sure the bottle says ';non-comedogenic';. This means it won't clog your pores.

Finally, if you do all this for two weeks and it doesn't get better, see a dermatologist.

Go to the skin doctor, they can hook you up with some pills to clear that up.

Or go to wallgreens and buy Zeno. It's a 150 dollar little machine but it works great, you just have to have a lot of patience to sit down and hold it on all your little pimples haha.Acne and pores?
Dont worry about it to much cause a lot of kids when they are 13 have acne. You cant get rid of it fast but go to a dermatologist and they will give you the best wash for your face. But if you cant go to a dermotologist get proactive it works amazingly ive been using it since i was 13 and i havent had a break-out since. i hope i helped.

(Wash your face as much as possible)
Proactive really works. also On The Spot Acne Treatment by Neutrogena
    Ok two words, ProActive Everyday
Proactiv is known to dry out your skin, so I wouldn't use that

This can all be drugstore products if you want but buy a cleanser, exfoliator, and moisturizer. Neutragena, Clearasil, Aveeno, Biore etc. Drink lots of water. Don't let the kids at school get to you because stress causes breakouts.

Oh yeah! and buy a Spot Treatment.
Go to the dermatologist. I know acne is terrible, but the derm will be able to give you the best product for your skin. It beats trying out products off the shelf that give you a bad reaction.

Also, try to stay away from multivitamins, as they oftentimes cause breakouts. Check out Acne.org for some good advice.

    All the best,

then exfoliate with something like st. ive's apricot scub or something like that.

it gets rid of dead skin for a cleaner shave.

i also suggest using a daisy dispoable razor.

It could be that you have an allergic reaction and hyperpigment. My friend had that. Also it could just be that your skin is pale and you can see the hair coming through. Maybe a self tanner would help it blend in. Try looking on Webmd for symptoms of allergies to your razor or shaving cream.

Once you open your pores, use a deep cleanser.

After that you need to close your pores back up with [as cold as possible] water.

Then moisturize. It's normal to have your skin go dry, because those skin cleansers clean off the natural oils. Thats why you need to moisturize after every time. Questions about pores?
close your pores with cold water and use moisturizer often but remember that the more you do this the bigger your pores will get.

I answered this question for someone else. And they picked it as their favourite answer. So here it goes again.

    Use Biore.

I have acne and so does my sister, we have tried everything from proactive to clearsil, noxema, neutrogena you name it we tried it. Biore works. Use biore for Acne prone skin, acne fighting ice cleanser its called.

    TRY THIS 3 DAY Regime:

Monday: Wash morning and night with Biore. After washing and before bed, use a face mask - example: St. Ives Clay mask or Biore clay mask, this gets rid of the oil and gunk deep down in your pores.

Tuesay: Wash morning and night with Biore. After washing and before bed, use a exfoilater on your skin. I recommend St. Ives Apricot scrub, it is gentle and slofs away dead skin cells making way for birght, glowing skin.

Wednesday: Wash morning and night with Biore. After washing and before bed, fill your bathroom sink up with hot water, put a towel over your head and stand there for about five min or so. This is called steaming and helps to open up your pores.

Thurs/Fri/Sat and Sun wash morning and night with Biore and so good bye to zits. *** Also, whether you wear makeup or not, use a toner on your oily zones, you just put some on a cotton ball and dab it on you oily zones it sucks up the oil, tightens your pores and brightens your skin, use oil absorbing sheets or facial powder through out the day, this helps keep the oiliness at bay and will actually help to get rid of zits. Keep hands clean, don't touch your face, keep your teeth and mouth clean and your phone clean, and most importantly keep your hair clean, this will help you stay acne free.

ALSO, one more thing use toothpaste on a zit the night before if you are out of zit cream, it works!Deep clogged pores?
BOIL a pot of water and steam ur face then us ur cleaner this will open up ur pores

    try a good exfoliater
Go for a facial where an licensed skin care person can

give you a professional facial. A local Spa or salon will be a good place, also your local beauty college provides those services at a lower cost and the students are well supervised so it is good. If you do not want to do that the Biroe Pore strips do the job but not as well.
Noxzema original cleansing cream. The one in the blue jar, not the tube. smear it on your face, let it sit for a few minutes, then rinse off. The best you'll ever use.

The best way to tighten pores is to clean them out first and then use egg whites. I use this product by Origins called Charcoal mask. It really does work!

i heard cold water could tighten pores, but it onlyworksfor a while =/
Oil Of Olay makes a clay mask that isn't too expensive. It works great in sucking out clogged pores and tightening them.
Yes I'd say wash your face very thoroughly before using the egg whites. Also when washing use hot water, then when you have washed the soap off use extremely cold water and rinse your face with it. Or if you have a stupid sink like mine, ice cubes work the same, just rub an icecube gently on your face (especially in spots like around your nose and your cheeks right by your ears). Sounds silly but it really works.
leave d smelly eggs aside. instead, rub ice gently on u'r face , nt very often, otherwise u'll catch cold , n b paitient, it'll happen gradually...
My grandmother used to put egg whites on my face as a t treatment mask. You wash first, then egg whites, then a rinse with cold water. The best, and a very inexpensive, way to tighten your pores is to simply wash your face with a mild soap, original Ivory bar soap, Neutrogena or Pears glycerin soap, rinse with warm water and splash with cold, follow with Witch Hazel as an astringent. Keep the bottle of Witch Hazel in the fridge between uses for a refreshing feeling. Inexpensive and effective.
Stri Vectin works well and is available at GNC stores. Save 20% the first week of every month with the gold card.
I don't know about egg whites but you should use a toner daily and a facial scrub nightly to tighten pores

    Face scars/pores Question?

my cheecks area have alot of this small little holes on it, it is from the previous pimple that i have burst. it have been on for a few months, and i just dontknow how to make it disappear. is it pores? or is it scars? can you guys tell me the product and procedure to clear this, as fast as possible? really need some help, thanks alot.Face scars/pores Question?
It is most likely scars if you don't see these marks on any other part of your face. Try over the counter scar medicines you can purchase at any drugstore. Mederma works very well. You may also want to see a dermatologist if that doesn't work, they could probably reccomend prescription medicines. Good Luck (:Face scars/pores Question?
well cosidering you have done everything wrong, lets see what we can do to make things better. each pimple is a small infection, you don't break them, you dry them up. you can get everything you need at osco or walgreens. if you steam your face, that is put your face over a pot that you have boiled water in and just let the steam open up your pores. wash your face then with clean and clear, really work up a lather,.rinse, pat dry, them wipe down your face with a cotton square moistened with witch hazel. you also can put witch hazel on the soars with a q tip. witch hazel drys up the soars and they will scab faster, under the scab, new skin will be growing. don't you dare pick the scab off, or it will scar. your whole body is covered with millions of pores, its your skin. you have enlarged your pores on your face with the picking, as to if you can get them to be smaller is anyones guess. that is if you keep your face as clean as possible, they may get smaller, it all depends on the type of skin you have. the scars, which you did to yourself also, will just have to fade with time. this isn't something you can do fast, you have to keep at it for the the duration of the acne. acne is from an imbalance of hormones, as you get older you will see you won't have the break outs as much.
    just leave your face alone

your face is doing its won job my pushing out all the oil and bacteria and thats how a pimple forms just leave it alone and it will get so much better trust me!

Well, I have oily skin and my pores are not that bad unless people are really really close at my face. But what I do is wash my face with a gentle cleanser when i take a shower, then use a nose strips, then toner and moisture my skin. Also, I use egg white mask like twice a week. Just get a egg white, beat it up lightly then leave it on until it is dry then wash it off with warm water. If you have dry skin, I would not recommend this mask though. But I don't think there is an actual way to minimize the pores. You just have to keep your face clean so that the dirt doesn't get in the pores and make them appear bigger. Big pores?

how do i make my pores appear smaller? they are so big and ugly. something natural that can help!Big pores?
I have dealt with this all my life. Exfoliation is key to minimizing the appearance of large pores. This can be accomplished using an at-home facial scrub or by visiting a spa or dermatologist for a microdermabrasion treatment. Microdermabrasion is a special type of facial that gently scrubs off the dead surface lawyer of the skin, revealing softer, healthier skin beneath. Acne products over dry the skin and make the pore produce more oil, adding to the problem. Many acne products contain benzol peroxide and or alcohol. Hard on skin.

The only think I have found that it helpful is to wash your face twice daily and use a mild anti-stringent like Witch hazel, or a vitamin C base anti-stringent. Both come as in natural state and are not expensive products. Avoid over drying and over moisturizing and avoid the sun. Try to Keep in mind you see it as much worse than the rest of the world sees it. Also keep in mind that people with oily skin (which causes large pores) generally have fewer winkles as they age.Big pores?

    Perfect pores?

How come some people have NO pores, ok they do but not obvious ones. Where on there face it looks like velvet, so perfect looking.. I feel like my skin looks worse in the sun light with my pores.

Share the pain girls and guys..Perfect pores?
Pores tend to be more obvious on oilier skins as the light reflection highlights changes in texture.

As pores become blocked (as in the case of blackheads) the pores becoe stretched and then more vsible.

Other reasons for enlarged pores are dehydration, loss of elasticity and aging.

So-to minimize pores a good cleanser is essential and refining the skin essential.

Avoid scrubs as these tend to spread infected pores and create spots-instead a good exfoliating cream is healthier.

I found the following products worked for me and my skin is much better.

I use Olay Cleansing Cloths to help clean off make up and dirt and massage out blocked pores. I follow with SK-II Clear Lotion that lifts off dead skin cells but doesnt have the drying effects of alcohol.I then use SK-II Facial Treatment Essence to balance oil and hydrate the skin.

At night I use Refing Treatment by SK-II that exfoliates and hydrates and unclogs while you sleep.

To control shine I use Facial Clear Solution by SK-II that helps control oil but doesnt dry up the skin.

You cant make pores smaller but you can improve the appearance...Good Luck!Perfect pores?
ok im not going to lie and say i have horrible pores. i am a lucky one with that. (age 14) but when i do break out or get a pimple it is a shock and i absolutly hate it! we all feel this pain one time or another. I try to wash my face at least once a day to prevent it.
yup sucks doesnt it... They have pores too but they are smaller
You CAN make your pores smaller:

Fill a sink with cold water and dip your face into it for about 20-30 seconds. Do it in two goes of 15 seconds if you can't take it (you will get used to it though).

The cold water shrinks the pores, minimising their appearance on your face.

As an added bones, all the skin on your face will tighten, instantly looking fresher.

You need to do this every morning and eventually the pores stay smaller on their own.
No-one is perfect. the people with no-pores on their face may have cellulite early on in life or be flat chested. It's all swings and round-abouts in life. Accept what you are.

Treatment of acne scarring ranges from simple skin creams to laser treatment, skin graft, and painful dermabrasion . Filling agents are also used to remove acne scars. Most filling agents are temporary, like collagen. For deep ice-pick scars the useful treatment is to cut them and replace them with skin graft taken from behind the ear. This technique is called ipunch grafting. Dermabrasion is almost the reverse of the cutting down technique because the normal skin is cut down to bring the acne scar to a lower level. This way, the scar remains the same but the level of rest of the skin changes, making them shallower and removing shadows. It gives skin a smoother surface.

For acne scarring treatment, another method is laser treatment. In this treatment carbon dioxide is used, which removes skin very finely, layer by layer, thus minimizing the damage to healthy tissue. Like dermabrasion, this method also leaves skin red for months.

In peeling treatments, chemicals are used to remove the outermost layer of skin, the epidermis. To remove different kinds of scarring, superficial peels, medium-depth peels, and deep peels are used. It is most helpful for shallow, superficial scars. Scars left by cystic acne and acne rosacea are treated by this method. Peeling is a long process which needs a preparation period of several weeks before the actual procedure.

My pores are HUGE...how do i make them appear smaller?

after you wash your face with warm water snap them shut with ice cold water. And try Pure Lux eraser. It's cheap and does a wonderful job. Just google it :)My pores are HUGE...how do i make them appear smaller?
Home remedy: Mix up a batch of dog salivia, add in some paprika, garlic, crushed advil, and rub it all over- including the eyes and teeth as they are the main source of pore buildups. My pores are HUGE...how do i make them appear smaller?
The way to permanently smaller pores is to live in a cool part of the world.

Your pores are large to allow your skin to breath and sweat.
After you wash your face in warm water, try splashing it repeatedly with ice cold water. That will close your pores making them smaller.

  • Big pores?

i have big pores from my acne is there any over the counter products that i can buy?Big pores?
    Here are some home recipes.

    Papaya mask/exfoliant

Cut papaya in 1 inch chunks. Blend/mash 2 or 3 chunks and store the wrest in the freezer. Apply the blended/mashed papaya and leave on face for 10-20 min. Use 2 or 3x a week.

The papaya may tingle but that just means that the papaya is working and it is breaking down dead skin cells to give that lovely glow and since it breaks down the dead skin it clears out the pores and in turn they shrink!!! (You may not see the results you want until you use it for a while.)

    Egg white mask

    1 egg white

    1 tsp. cornstarch

Beat ingredients. Apple to face, let dry 10-15 min. Rinse.

(Tightens pores. Makes you look like you got a mini face lift!!)

    Baking soda microdermbrasion/exfoliant recipe

Make a paste with baking soda and water, then gently rub on face and rinse.

    Sea salt glow (my favorite!)

Make a paste using olive oil, fresh lemon juice or water to moisten the sea salt. Apply to face and gently rub skin, rinse.

(olive oil is good for dry or normal skin, lemon juice is better for oily or acne prone skin and water can be used for whichever.)

    Clay Facial mask

Choose the right clay for your skin type. (French-oily-acne, bentonite-normal, cosmetic or white-any, kaolinite pink-normal-combo, kaolinite white-dry-mature, kaolinite red-sensitive. Add plain water or floral waters or try wetting agents such as fruit purees . Make a thick paste of the clay. Apply the mask to your skin and let it dry for 20 minutes. Rinse well with warm water and pat dry. Repeat weekly. ( I use french clay)

You can buy some of the clays here:

    Hope this helps!!!Big pores?
None that would work. They contain cheap fillers and will plugg your pores and cause more acne in the long run. You need to use a product that will get rid of those dead skin cells (my re9 facial scrub) for one and the nutrimin c re9 line for men and women to open pores and minimize them using the pure safe botanical ingredients arbonne is know for with proven results. These products will close your pores after they pull out all the bacteria inside them and you will love your new skin. I would also recommend the enzeme peel to use at night instead of your night cream for over all protection 3-4 times a week use it as a mask and go to bed you won't believe what wonders this product does. Like peeling an onion you need to peel your skin so the natural ph can come back to life on your face and if you click on my profile it will take you to where you can get these awesome products you will love with prven results and if you have any questions please contact me.
i use a toner, which tightens skin, and makes pores less visible. :)
try this product from CVS or Walgreens in the Latin products section

    http://www.americarx.com/Products/30812.鈥?/a>
Try Neutrogena products, they have great items, I like their pore-refining toner, and their blackhead removal scrub is amazing! I also recommend their acne treatment which is a face wash and mask. They've worked better than the stuff my dermatologist prescribed that cost an arm and a leg. Sometimes the salicylic acid in Rx products can do more harm than good.

Neutrogena is also very reasonably priced, anywhere between $4-10.
try a cleanser with glycolic acid. it can help shrink pores. I would recommend MD Forte cleanser.

also use a sugar scrub or a microdermabrasion scrub to resurface the skin.

    Leg pores..?

okay, sooooo my hairpores on my legs are huge.

    andddddd they are really unnatractive.

is there any way to shrink them?

orrrrrr to make them less visable other than exfoliating, and tanning? I heard waxing helps, but how much?Leg pores..?
Sounds like you have very thick leg hair. I'd reccomend waxing and/or a chemical hair remover (i.e. nair), because it's the hairs that makes the pores *look* huge. If they don't work, you may want to consider laser hair removal ($$$$).

But hey, who wants leg hair anyway?Leg pores..?
    Cut off your legs

    Minimizing pores?

Is there anything I can do to minimize my pores. I do put ';mud'; on my face about once every two weeks, but it doesn't seem to do anything. I have really big pores around my nose. Well they are not necessarily big, but you can tell they are open. I also make sure my face is clean and stuff, so I don't know what I am doing wrong. Help! lol Thanks!Minimizing pores?
Large Pores Treatment - Home remedies

    SUGAR SCRUB

Ingredients: 1 Tablesoon each of sugar, olive oil and honey.

Wet face, apply scrub by rubbing very gently in a circular motion. Remove with water with hands only.

    EGG WHITE MASK

Mix 2 egg whites with a few drops of lemon juice. Apply on face and leave on for 5-7 minutes, then rinse with hands.

Note: As egg whites dry, they linghten the skin and pull debris out of pores. Lemon is a natural fruit acid which also helps to exfoliate.

Or you may try the following to treat large pores

    1) Mix almond meal with enough water to make a paste. Apply to pores for 20 minutes. Rinse with warm water, then apply withch hazel or a solution of apple cider vinegar and water.

    2) Mix table salt and buttermilk into a paste, apply on enlarged pores and massage well. Rinse with warm water.

    3) Add lemon juice and a little milk to oatmeal. Apply the paste and remove after 20 minutes with water. Do not use if there are eruptions.

    Tips on reducing large pores

Stop using harsh toners or astringents on the affected areas. Using these products may have a very temporary 'tightening' effect on pores, but it's extremely short-lived. In fact, harsh astringents actually encourage oil glands to over-produce oil, leading to an increase in the size of pores.

Avoid putting moisturiser on the area as the skin produces quite enough moisture and oil on its own and doesn't need more.

Makeup tips to hide the appearance of large pores

Heavy foundations will draw attention to your large pores. So, stay with a sheer, light and oil free foundation.

Apply foundation, concealer, powder and blusher in a downward motion, otherwise you'll accentuate pores by pushing colour up and into them.

    Steam your face weekly

    =)

    how to steam your face:

Heat up water in a kettle on the stove or in the microwave. Stop heating before water boils.

Sit at a table with your face over the bowl and a towel over your head. Keep your face a comfortable distance from bowl, not so close you hurt from the heat, but not so far that nothing happens. This should open your pores.

Once the steam is finished, rinse your face with lukewarm water and a wash cloth.

    =)Minimizing pores?
I think using a daily toner is supposed to help shrink your pores.
for an at home remedie, steam face for 5-10 minutes. next take baking soda and water mixture[ just a palmful], gently apply to face, rinse with COLD water to close the pores. finish with a good lotion. i do this about once or twice a week, so you dont want to over do it and do this everday.

give it a try.... i hope this works for you!
try cliniques pore minimiser range, they have a special serum that can be applied tipocally and shrink pres, there's als ester lauder's serum which is fab and leaves skin smooth and poreless, splash face with cold water after cleansing as a simple remedy :D
Well wash your face allot. Like up to 3 or 4 times a day! Your face probably has allot of dirt that you don't know about! Scrub your face really good to destroy that access dirt.

I would recommend to do some research on some face washes. Not all face washes work. You might have really sensitive skin so make sure you make the right choice.

When you dry your face don't rub it pat it with a towel.

Break outs can also be caused by stress. I know this will sound weird but try meditating to make your stress go away.

Those face masks can also make break outs worse if they aren't good so do your research.

Fell free to e-mail me any times with questions.

    I hope that helps!!

Can anyone recommend a product or a way to help minimize large pores? Thank you!Large Pores?
You can opt for make-up to make them appear smaller, you can visit a dermatologist for a microdermabrasian treat, visit a spa for exfoliation (you can do that at home as well) or use a skin cream such as Astrali Aries. There are also a whole bunch of home remedies such as sugar scrubs, egg white mask and others. Check the second link in the source links.

You can order it online i think, and its not really TOO expensive
I know this sounds really weird, but it WORKS!

Before you go to sleep-Take off ALL of you makeup and wash it with cleanser about 4 times in a row. Your face will be pink or red (which is normal). Then get toothpaste, and put a thin layer over your clusters or pimples. For individual ones, but a littledab over it. Then go to sleep :]. Try not to touch it very much as i have found it doesnt work as well. Then wash your face 4 more times when you wake up. IT WILL LOOK 10 times better! do it for about a week and most of your pimples will be gone. Make sure its the original toothpaste, the gel doesnt work too well.
try biore ice cleanser, it worked wonders for my skin. ughh i hate the oily stage.

    Skin!pores!help!?

    hi.

    how is everyone doing.

    ok well

i would like to know if anyone has an idea what can make the redness caused by pimples on your face go away.

ive heard that ';viscine';{{from red eyes}} helps the redness.

does anyone know any other product and how long does it take?

    also

what helps your pores look smaller.

thank you for all your answers!

    :)

    Anonymous PrincessSkin!pores!help!?
yes visine can work, it will constrict the blood cells in your skin the same way it does in your eyes, thus reducing the redness.

other than that i dont know what else can reduse redness. but washing your face with cold water will close the pores in your face, im thinking it may also aid in ridding the redness as wellSkin!pores!help!?
Well Anonymous Princess, you can use Neutrogena Acne Mark Fade %26amp; Peel.. or start using Pro-Activ (it works for me).

Home remedies= Oatmeal %26amp; Honey mxiture.
Toothpaste (gel) also reduces the redness.

There's a product (I'm thinking clinque?) that will completely hide your pores, onder, over, or without makeup. Might be a good investment for you.
It is true that your pores get smaller and bigger at times, But everything else is a myth. You cant control how big or small they get. I just read it in a cosmo girl magazine.

The redness is another thing though! You can get rid of that..

and anyways, whos going to care whether your pores look big or small that day? you can hardly notice them.
do you know what pores are? you can`t make pores any smaller than they already are.they are a necesity to your body i.e. they help your body to cool down also they are the outlet for you sweating ,so dont try to make them smaller otherwise you risk ill health
Visine might be a quick fix to reduce the redness around a small pimple, but once the effect of it wears off, if the infection remains in the pore, the redness will return.

You don't say if you are dealing with one pimple, or many, and if you have a small pimple or full blown acne. If you break out regularly, you may benefit from something like ProActive. It's a good system for clearing up your complexion and keeping clear. If you just need occasional spot treatments, something like Clearasil is probably more effective at getting rid of the pimple than treating just the redness with Visine.

Your pores will also look best (smaller) if you keep your hair clean and styled off your face. Oily scalp and hair touching the face will make breakouts more frequent.

Pores look smaller if they are not packed with makeup, oil, and other debris, like dead cells. If you tend to have larger pores on your forehead, nose and chin, that's normal. If your skin is oily, breaks out frequently, and the pores in your T-zone (forehead, nose, chin) tend to look darker/larger, ProActive also has a good mask that helps draw the crud out of those pores, if used regularly.

Don't agonize over it--you're probably looking more closely at your pores than other people do!

    Big Pores?

How to make them get smaller? do they look like little white dots? I think I have them my skin looks uneven and I want them to look almost invisible. At home remides? Drug store treatment?Big Pores?
The white dots are from oil getting into the pores. Wash your face with hot water to open the pores. Then use a wash cloth to rub the skin clean. When you finish, wash your face with cold water to close the pores.Big Pores?
Get some of those special pore-cleaning adhesive strips and use them, oh, once a week. Also, lay hands on some apricot scrub and peel-off facial mask. All of that should help keep your pores clear.

Also, in terms of make-up, use loose mineral foundation instead of the bottled crap. I personally love the stuff offered by http://bombshellbath.com/
well dont exfoliate that will only make them bigger.

use a gentle cover cream and that will even ur skin out.
    ask a doc
you cannot make a pore smaller or bigger, u can only helps them APPEAR smaller...clinique has a great line on pore...one thing i learn is not to squeeze them cause it only make them worse...if u dont hav lots of money to spend, try clean and clear spore scrub
Hi Im the captains assistant, the captain thiinks maybe a new head
Those white dots are dried sebum (oil) and dead skin cells. Use hot water to open your pores, then use a clay mask to pull the gunk out. You can find clay masks at any drug or department store. Queen Helene's Mint Julep Mask is cheap and effective. After using a mask, use a pore strip or a gentle scrub to buff away the dried sebum (Biore and Ponds both make pore strips). Then apply a toner. I use Dickinson's Witch Hazel, which you can find at any drug store. This will help close the pores after your skin is thoroughly cleansed with a mask. The key is to deep cleaning your skin and getting all the gunk out.
a clay mask from a drug store works well for shrinking pores. and use a toner afterwards to close them up even more.

    Raised pores on my face?

i have what look like raised pores on my face particularly noticable on my forehead but are all over.. i also get boils on my scalp usually come and go on the same area.. anybody out there experience this.. i'm 54 years oldRaised pores on my face?
Maybe it's sebaceous hyperplasia - oil glands that have overgrown and get bumpy. If you have cysts on your scalp and these other skin issues, you should see a dermatologist. There are treatments for these conditions.

    Black pores?

So on my face next to my nose my pores are black and i've had it now since like august. How do i get rid of them they are so gross?!?! i have already tried those strip things and they don't work and i have also tried the creams stuff any other ideas. I've heard about the glue does that really work?Black pores?
There is a multitude of blackhead products on the market. I have some Oxy Pads specifically for blackhead treatment, that seem to work well. I also have tried a ';Tea Tree Oil Mask'; that is sold by The Body Shop. That helps too.

If none of the over the counter products help you, you may want to consider a dermatologist. I ended up having to see a dermatologist for some stubborn acne that I couldn't get to clear up. She prescribed a medicated face wash and a gel that I put on each morning after my shower. That has helped tremendously. It is pretty expensive to go the dermatology route, but for me it was well worth it.

    Good luck.Black pores?
their called black heads, but try going to the dermatologist.
Glue NO,NO!! use Acne Free and there is Proactivi!
    facial scrubs.. like St. Ives
Try using St. Ive's Apricot Scrub twice a week to exfoliate your skin and get rid of the dead skin on your face n the pores should fade a little. I've been using Dermadoctor's Ain't Misbehavin Blackhead treatment for 2 weeks now and not only is it helping with blackheads not coming back but it's getting rid of my oily skin and pimples! You should use mattifying powder to absorb the oil on your skin and that will help the oil NOT set in and get comfy on your skin. I use Estee Lauder Double Wear and Matte powder but if you're on a budget even Covergirl Clean powder will work. BTW...you normally get blackheads for not taking good care of your skin so wash your face day and night even though you don't wear make-up! I have a friend (she's 23) who doesn't wear make-up so only washes her face at night n she has major blackheads.....good luck!
there called black heads fyi..... what my dermatologist recommended for it was to squeeze them because inside usually is wax from sweating........ so just squeeze it NOT until it bleeds BUT until stuff starts not coming out..... and then after a physical activity or anything that enquirers sweat aka everyday life .... just in the night time or right after u work out then use a oil free SCRUB!!! then oil free face wash.... fyi the squeezing thing comes first and do it in the night time to squeeze so you have no red marks
try getting a facial. they will squeeze the blackheads and try to eliminate or make smaller and less noticeable.

  • Large pores?

okay i think i have large pores. i use a prescription for my skin which works great and has cleared my skin up. but my face is shiny and sometimes red. is that a result of large pores, and if so, what can i use to help? keep in mind that my skin isn't oily because of my acne medication but it is shiny and looks oily.Large pores?
Lrage pores do not contribute to your oily skin. Its genetics. Does/did your mom or dad have oily skin? I know my mom does, and thats where I get my skin type from. Also, it could be your medication that's making your skin red, is it dry in or around the red spots? If so, moisturize. As far as moistureizing your whole face, make sure you use a gel moisterizer. Cremes are too heavy for oily skin and can make it worse. I use Mary Kay Hydrating Gel (which is a little pricey, $30) THere is also Clinque Dramaticly different moistureing gel (make sure you get the gel, not the creme, this is about $20-25)

Dry skin problems respond well to self-care measures, such as using moisturizers and avoiding long, hot showers and baths. If you have very dry and scaly skin, your doctor may recommend you use an over-the-counter cream that contains lactic acid or lactic acid and urea.

In a more serious skin disease, such as ichthyosis or psoriasis, your doctor may prescribe prescription creams and ointments or other treatments in addition to home care.

Dry skin leads to dermatitis, which causes red, itchy skin. In these cases, treatment may include hydrocortisone-containing lotions. If your skin cracks open, your doctor may prescribe wet dressings with mildly astringent properties to contract your skin and reduce secretions and prevent infection.

I believe http://www.skinsosilky.com/ will help you best for more advices, ideas and best treatments for any skin problem like dry skin.
    SPELL CHECK!
First, be sure you are drinking enough water. Then be sure to eat properly most of the time. Include fruits and veggies in your everyday diet. For a quick fix on your problem, wash your face with a mild soap and rinse well. Pat dry.

Next take a large bowl and large towel. Set them on a table. Pour some really hot water in the bowl. Use the towel to make a tent so when you hold your head over the bowl the steam won't escape. Let your head stay over the steam until you begin to perspire. Then rinse your face and pat dry. You can also use a facial scrub after this. Follow with a moisturizer.

Do at lease once a week until you see results.

Clogged pores on the nose are somewhat an individual thing and has little to do with whether you take good care of your skin. But doing what I suggested will help.

it does not work.. my pore strip is not biore, it's ';beauty formulas'; lol.. Why i know it didn't work is because I don't see the dark things on it, in fact I only saw 2 thing on it but the others from the tip of my nose remain..Pore strip to remove blackheads on my nose does not work.?
to answers your 2nd question, yes i beleive you can use it after u shower!

here are some suggestions to getting them out:

-hot towel compress on your nose for a couple minutes

-facial steam bath (boil water+bowl+towel over your head for 5 mins)

-the way you pull the tab. try different ways until you finally get some more results!

gd luck :)Pore strip to remove blackheads on my nose does not work.?
try taking warm water and putting a towel over your head and the water and make a ';steam room.'; it will open your pores and that should help.

yes it can be as long as its nice and hot.

dry, polka dotted pores over the lower and upper arms. need help, desprate for answer!!!!!!My pores r dilated. arms got all dotted after i came from a beach, i was tanning for a while?
Those little polka dots are subcutaneous tiny blisters. Use witchazel followed by an aloe vera after sun gel.My pores r dilated. arms got all dotted after i came from a beach, i was tanning for a while?
You had clogged pores that dried in the sun. Exfoliate regularly and always put lotion on you arms when you get out of the shower.

    My pores are huge. HELP?

What can i do to shrink the size of my pores? Any good products out there that really help?My pores are huge. HELP?
i have this problem too. I know if when you wash your face with hot water it opens your poors and when you rinse with cold water it closes them, maybe that would help. I would like to hear other peeps answers too.My pores are huge. HELP?
Biore- skin tight pores and toner, it will help =)
I've heard good things about Pore Refining Cleanser by Netrogena. It doesn't have a great smell, but I've heard from a lot of people and magazines that this is a good choice. Good luck! :)
Tami is right:) Washing your face with warm water opens up your pores and then when your done a lil cold splash closes them :)

After washing your face, rub some toner with a cotton pad(Neutragena Pore minimizer is the best!!:D) Its in a pearl white bottle and its around 5 buckaroos lol

Then once the toner on your face has dried(in about 15 sec) its wayyy wayyy wayyy important that you seal those open pores with a healthy lotion or repairing lotion(if you have some acne that helps:)

    Good luck!^_^

    Making Pores Smaller?

I have pores by my nose, I'm 17 what can make them smaller? And I need a product that isn't too oily or too dry...Making Pores Smaller?
Biore Pore Unclogging Scrub. Sometimes pores appear larger because they're so clogged up with dirt and oil. This facial wash can be purchased at your local drugstore and it really works wonders. I recommend it for anyone who complains about enlarged pores.

You can also (as a home remedy) hold an ice cube on the enlarged pores for 15 minutes twice a day. Because the ice-cube is so cold, it helps to shrink the pores, not permanently but for a bit.Making Pores Smaller?
There is no way to actually make your pores smaller. You're stuck with the ones you were born with. However, you can make them ';appear'; smaller. The best way is to use a good pore cleanser and to be sure to use a toner to close your pores back up after washing. I am a certified skin care consultant and have some great products I recommend if you are interested.

  • Large Pores/Uneven Skin Tone/Rough Skin! Help!?

I have skin problems and I'm looking for homemade recipes for :

    1. Large Pores (I know they can't be treated/reversed, I just want something to make them appear smaller)

    2. Uneven Skin tone

    3. Rough skin

if anyone can help with homemade masks/scrubs/ etc i'd appreciate it. thanks!Large Pores/Uneven Skin Tone/Rough Skin! Help!?
for uneven skin tone use bio oil

Large pores , not that large, but still

actually i wasnt born with these. these are a result to an acne cream ( which has worked :D ) so anyways yeah now theyr big and i want to restore them. what can i do ? and i wanna do this before the end of august. plz nd thnk you :) Large pores , not that large, but still
Garnier Pure is good for using after washing and Clinique has a brilliant pore tightener = really try it and its worth every penny. Good luck, even COLD water tightens those awful pores. Mine are a lot better now I use this under my foundation.Large pores , not that large, but still
i have heard the egg white mask by the other user's answer has worked. Also look into doing natural citrus fruits like making a lemon and grapefruit toner mixed with water.

i just started making my own homemade cosmetics and have never been happier. oils like coconut, olive and almond and hazelnut oil make excellent skin cleansers and makeup removers. they dont grease up the face and they get the dirt and grime out and water lifts it away leaving it moisturized.

    honey

    apple cider vinegar

    natural aloe gel

    essential oils

    glycerin

these are the way to go. after 3 days of usign my own nighttime moisturizer, my acne is going away and looking better in the mornng.

first deep clean your pores with a natural green powder clay mask mixed with apple cider vinegar infused with tea tree oil for antiseptic 1-2 times a week then try that egg white mask for a few days along with a citrus fruit. maybe squeeze the juice in witch hazel and aloe vera gel to help tighten the skin.

not only will you enjoy learning how to make your own cosmetics, you will align yourself with mother nature and save a helluva lot of money in the long run and your skin will look so much better by avoiding unnecessary chemicals.
Apply fresh tomato juice daily. Also egg-white mixture will close your big pores too. Just apply a little and keep it for ten minutes.

    Good Luck
Buy some cream called pore reducer from Avon. It really works. I have used it to help reduce my large pores.

    Open pores definition?

What would be your definition of an open pore? Stuck for coursework :[Open pores definition?
Open pores are pores that are very noticeable - the skin has an 'orange peel' appearance as opposed to being very smooth.Open pores definition?
The “hole” on the surface of the skin through which the hair emerges is the “pore” and oil flows on to the skin surface through this pore. Pores do not have doors that “open” and “close”,but this is a descriptive way of describing how they work. The diameter of the tubule forms the pore and when the tubule dilates(widens) it gives the impression of being wide open. When the tubule contracts,it gives the impression of tightening and “closing”.

    Open pores?

Anyone has any idea on how to close open pores? I'm on regular monthly facial and weekly mask but the pores remain open and ugly. I haven't tried oral supplement or anything like that. Please help.Open pores?
Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but there's no way to 'close' pores. Really! What you can do is change the appearance temporarily. Pores are physically unable to open or close.

That said, with regular facials it may reduce the appearance of your pores, and you can temporarily reduce the appearance with certain creams.

I don't know of any oral supplement that will help reduce the appearance either.

The good news is that you are taking care of your skin with your facial regimen. Outstanding!Open pores?
Pores will still stay the same theres no actual cure for that

try washing your face with HOT!! water then right away with COLD!! water ...so that the pore will close but eventually it will open sometime during the day....Try not to wear to much make-up.

    --kelsey--
Exercise rigorously. An expensive way would be to get a chemical peel.
many people say cold water is supposed to open pores. i use Biore strips and they help minimize pores too

    Large pores across nose?

Is there anything i can do to minimise/get rid of them? They keep getting clogged up and it looks really horrible.Large pores across nose?
Welcome to my world. I hope someone gives a good answer because I am going to take their advice!Large pores across nose?
Try witch hazel as a cleanser.
    gross!

    that was too graphic!

you can do NOTHING to minimize the size of your pore but you can try using a black head cleanser to get keep it looking nice
go to the market and there should be solution for that
take a shower ya dirty little get :)
lemon juice 2 times a week
Didn't I tell you before, just chop it off!
Just continue to clean your face on a daily bases ohh and proactive refining mask helps also

    ~Noodles
use nivea 3 step. the cleanser, the toner* and the matifying masque. if your pores get blocked its not about dirty skin and how much/little one washes. you could wash 3 times a day and no improvement. i know.

*the toner tightens the pores thus reducing the size gradually! its expensive but worth it if your somewhat vain.
you can buy minimizing loton but they don't really work.

    Big Pores Please Help!!?

Im on antibiotics that my dermotologist gave for my acne and i dont really have that many pimples on my face. However, even though i dont have that many pimples, the pores on my t zone are very big and have blackheads. What can i do to help shrink my pores?

Ive been going to the dermotologist for 2 years and he hasnt found a solution to my pores, only my acne. Any recommendations?Big Pores Please Help!!?
get a facial. seriously, it's not just for girls if it works well for you. ask for one that minimizes your pores. don't be afraid to go to the spa. =) trust me, my boyfriend got a facial and it did wonders for his pores. good luck with your skin!Big Pores Please Help!!?
This will really help.Oil on the skin emphasises pores because it creates a shimmer around each opening, keeping oil off face will minimise the look of the pores.I know this sounds dumb but I use toilet paper to blot skin through the day,it took me a while to find the right one but I found this very absorbant toilet paper and when I blot you can see the film of oil on the paper.Just go to the men's room with your paper in your pocket and blot all over your face you will see the difference.I usually need to blot twice a day.Hope this helps cheers.
Chico, you need to use the: Mint Julep Mask to dry up your pimples... here is a natural way...

1st: detox you face: bowel water until you see steam... turn off the burner and place your face over the pot w/ a towel over your head %26amp; the pot.

2nd: rinse your face with warm water and then pat dry your skin... then place a mint mask on your face for 15min.

3rd: wash the mint mask gently off your face with warm water...

    4th: when the mask has been completely rinsed off with warm water.... rinse the entire face with warm water and then switch the water to ';COLD';

5th: rinse your face with cold water... to shrink your pores and then pat dry your face.

Your skin should feel clean and clear!!!

Only do this 2X a month. During the mean time....

wash your face with warm water every day and then immedialy switch to cold water!!!

Wash your face 2X a day: morning and night!

Remember DETOX 2X a month ONLY!!!

    Good Luck!

Let me know if it worked chico...
Depending on how far you want to take it (and how much money you want to spend), you could look into dermabrasion, chemical peels and other skin treatments which take off a few layers of skin to reveal newer skin underneath. Be warned though that if you do this, you will have to maintain a strict skincare regimen and never go out in the sun without a high SPF sunblock. Many spas and beauty salons do these types of treatments but I would recommend finding a dermatologist who does this or a plastic surgeon. They have the medical expertise to make sure things go right, unlike a spa or salon where the aestheticians more than likely just have a cosmetology license.
clean and clear works for me, proactive i heard works pretty well, i put toothpaste on my pimples at night to make them less red, if you pop your pimple and then put salt water until you feel it tingle and then rise it off and dab some honey on it before bed that gets rid of them, i suggest to go on google and search up some other things that work for people try exfoilating and etc.

    hope that helped %26lt;3

btw DONT touch your face too much it makes your face really oily.
actually proactive and al those products do work but also u should do this.

bfore you go to sleep wash your face with super hot water and then put on theproduct that you have and in the morning wash your face again but this time with cold water. the hot water is so that it opens your pores and the cold one is to close them up it really does work
Use those pore strips....they will help decrease the black heads and there are pore minimizing creams outs there...if you haven't you should try them. It might require a more expensive one as a lot of the over the counter ones don't work as well. When you wash your face splash with cold water after that will help shrink the pores.
Ice cold water. I have read this in Cosmo and other fashion magazine for years. After cleansing your face get you a bowl of ice and water...dip your face in it. This shrinks the pores.

It doesn't get rid of the large pores but it sure does help minimize them.
SieNaaa is right, Pro active, its the best. The toner is designed to shrink the pores. It realy does work. You dont have to buy the whole range, you can buy the toner by itself.
avoid anything that is a scrub that is just going to open your pores even more, try using a soft cleanser and always use a moistrise when going out in the sun
Before you clean your face, splash it with warm water to open pores. then clean your face, then splash your face with very cold water to close up pores.
Ask your dermatologist about having laser treatment or a skin peel on your face.

He may do these procedures himself, or he can refer you to someone who can do them for you.
As far as I know, theres no way to permanently shrink your pores. Just keep your face clean, wash your hair as to not collect grease which will irritate them, and you shouldn't have all too many problems.
Do a honey mask. It simple cheap and it works. Leave it on for 20 min. and wash it off. It does wonder for me =)
try cetaphil!!!!!!! you can get it at rite aid and clean and clear black head controll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Proactive!
avon face washing pads ( burning means its working) wash you face with a hard sponge and put rubbing alchol on them.
us guys dont really care bout this, i would probably use some aftershave, so the alcohol shrinks them?
    clean and clear =]
ur doctor of 2 years cant figure it out then how can we!!!

    Huge pores?

How do I reduce the size of the pores on my nose? They even show through my foundation. Astrigent isn't working. I'm 37 and have oily skin.Huge pores?
Hi! I also had this problem when I was your age. I'd do a nice steam facial then use a towel soaked in really cold water and put that on my face right after the steam. Tightened them right up! And it felt great too! Best part of it, it's free!Huge pores?
They get bigger as you age , I was told to always final rinse w/ cold water , try using a base under your make-up.
I guess you shoul use a natural facewash for oily skin 3-4 times a day.
Try Loreal anti-aging creams and pore-minimizer products. Also, try olay total effects.

you may also try facial steam or slice pieces of cucumber then rub them on your face. Exfoliation is also my advise. Exfoliate 2-3 times a week, and keep your skin oil-free. I always apply face powder on my face to keep it oil-free. St. Ives products have good lines of exfoliants. Minimize eating oily foods and maximize the amount of fruits and veggies in your diet. Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day.

Good luck. I hope these will work.

I have large pores on my nose, and a lot of whiteheads. I use Biore strips but after a few days my pores are going back to normal. What do I do?! :[Large pores on nose? Helpp!?

    Tighten pores??pimples scars??

i have ds problem since i've been in college.. plz somebody help me, i want to know the most simple and natural way in replacing it..Tighten pores??pimples scars??
take about four aspirin and dissolve them in a few drops of water.. add in a squirt of honey and make it into a paste.. you can also add in a few vitamin e capsules if ya like.. this can be used as a scrub, mask if left on for ten minutes, and a spot treatment left n over night..

aspirin has the same active ingredient as pro active.. i've also read that it helps to lessen the appearance of scars..

another thing i do as an exfoliate is i scrub my face with an electric toothbrush.. it's sounds kinda weird but it works.. it really cleans out your pores and removes dead skin, oil and dirt.. you can use any scrub ya like or the aspirin i mentioned.. i like to use st. ives.. and i do it about three times a week..

only wash your face when you wake up in the morning, before you go to bed, and after exercise.. excess washing makes your face produce extra oil..

warm water opens pores and cold closes them.. so wash with warm and rinse with cold..

also you may want to get a good toner and moisturizer.. not astringent because it contains a ton of alcohol and is rough on your skin..

a whipped up egg yolk left on the face for ten minutes is a natural moisture mask.. a whipped up egg white tightens your face..

and watch the make up you use.. a mineral make up is so much better for your skin.. it doesn't clog your pores or make you break out.. i like to use bare minerals make up and have for almost three years.. i love it..

    i hope this helps..Tighten pores??pimples scars??
I love ST IVE APRICOT SCRUB!!! It exfoliates (great for removing dead layers of scarred skin) its great for blackheads and it has a collinf effect which helps close pores

Also try lemon juice great for acne and blackheads

Go here for more info and remedies.
Retin-A, tightens pores and reduces acne quite a bit, only use every other day. Also try alpha hydroxy cream for scars and apply at least once a day. Benzaclyn definetly works on major breakouts. You'll want to use this everyday if your skin is acne prone or just on the spot and it goes away like magic! Retin-A and Benzaclyn are physician prescribed, but Alpha Hydroxy cream you can find at any drugstore.

    Opened pores, need help!?

    hi everyone!

I moved to london about 2 months ago and my skin has dramatically changed! I have a very thin skin, normal but my pores are opened! I am also a bit dehydrated and I would like to know if you know a product that will astringe the pores and leave my skin normal again. When I apply my foundation , in the morning it 's perfect! but then around 1pm or 2pm it seems to be absorbed by my skin and I can really see my pores! which I hate. if you have a miraculous product, please tell me!

thanks to you all!Opened pores, need help!?
Hiya...Please stop worrying, it's very simple. In the mornings, wash your face as normal, but make sure you splash with cold water afterwards because that closes opened pores straight away. Then 10-20 minutes before applying your daily make-up, circle Clinque Pore Minimizer around your nose, forehead and cheeks. This fills your open pores and smoothens out your face. Apply your make-up and wash off before bed. Take a thick night moisturiser (Bodyshop Night Cream) and rub around and into pores to keep them moist but closed. Always wash your face in the night times because during the night is when your pores and skin works the harder to reattain it's moisture and cleaniness. I hope I helped.Opened pores, need help!?
Im not sure of specific products that you can buy in the UK, but you can help rehydrate your skin by drinking more fluids through out the day and using a good facial toner in the morning to help keep your pores tight.
the best thing to do is splash your face with water as cold as you can stand it, this closes the pores before applying make up
    distilled witch hazel
Clinique has a very good product, Pore Minimizer, I am not sure it will close the pores, but it will hide them!

If your skin is dehydrated, do not use an astringent product. Make sure you drink at least 2 litres of water a day and invest in a good moisturizer!

    Dirty pores?

do u have a homemade recipe to clear dirty pores?Dirty pores?
Here are a bunch of organic recipes there are few that will clean pores - http://www.organic-items.com/health-reci…Dirty pores?
there aren't really any homemade recipe's that clear the dirty pores on your face effectively. Your best bet is to go to a pharmacy and buy a face wash that is especially made for clearing your pores.

    good luck
Well, I try to exfoliate with a sugar scrub every now and then. That's just sugar and a tad of baby oil. Avocado also has cleansing properties. Sorry I couldn't help more :)
You need a more thorough treatment. I suggest you start with these steps:

    1. Avoid oil-based products such as facial lotions, wash and cosmetics. Look for products that are “non-comedogenic,” it means it will not clog your pores.

    2. Do not wear tight headband, baseball hat, and/or helmet when you exercise or play sports, and make sure you wash the sweat-soaked things each time you wear them.

    3. Keep the skin hydrated and moist so your cells can function properly. Moisturize your face with mild, non-comedogenic moisturizers to keep it hydrated. Moisturizing is a necessity. Again, the product with the least amount of chemical additives is the best. Always use a light moisturizer on your face after cleansing.

    4. Cleanse your pores with an alcohol-free toner or skin conditioner on cotton balls. Do not try to scrub harshly or you will strip and damage your skin. Even after rinsing your face, if you do not remove the remainder of cleanser and loosened debris residues, you are only going to imbed that debris deeper into the pores as you layer serums and moisturizers on top. The absolute best way to perform this deep pore cleansing is with an alcohol-free toner or skin conditioner on cotton balls. There's no need to harm your skin by vigorous scrubbing or harsh acids, simply wipe with toner damp cotton balls until the last cotton comes away perfectly white.

    5. Astringents, Salicylic Acid, retinoic acids, and glycolic acids all work to prevent pores from clogging. Be aware of some active ingredients like benzoyl peroxide, these ingredients can cause major side effects.

For better results, I suggest you also fight your acne from inside, because hormonal problems could also be the worst cause of acne. And for this kind of treatment, please choose safe ingredients... herbals are the best.

    Good luck!

Let me tell you something not many people know,

When you try to wash the oil off your wash using soap or

any store brought product what happends is it sucks up alot of the natural oils

out of your skin, and what happends when that occurs? your

skin goes into over time trying to reblimish the lost oil

and doubles the amount, your pores open up more to get more of the oil out and air in so let me help you

Ah ok well my mother had the same problem as you,

and let me tell you what she did to make it stop,

this is a home treatment of course, the only thing

you may need to buy is a lemon if you dont already have some in the fridge,

what you want to do is get some lemon and squeez that

sucker into a tiny bit of honey, and mix that all together, put that

into the area where you want treated and wait 5-10 mins and than wash off,

the lemon works great as a toner and as we all know toners are

great for tighthing the skin and even better for your pores to look

smaller, the honey helps as an evener, it will even out the uneven

skin tone and also sooths the skin,This teachique not only destorys the pimples you already

have but it also helps prevent them from coming up again,Drinking alot of water

every day also helps alot :) Well I hope this helps %26lt;3 good luck

A toner from Mary Kay. They have 3 different kind depending on your type of skin. You use it after the cleanser.

    www.marykay.com/ppimentel
i rub soap really hard on my face and that seems to do the trick
Cold water and toner definately help. longer term solutions are to have mild chemical peels or microdermabrasion.
Wash your face with warm water and when all the soap is gone rinse your face with cold water, that helps me. Also, using a clay mask can help reduce pore size.
wet a towel with extremley hot water and out it on your face the steam opens your pores
Open pores?? You should go to Google and search that question. I dont quite know.

Going to the spa is going to help keep in mind that it could be sebborreheic dermatitis this can cause everything that you are experiencing although there is not a natural remedy a doctor can prescribe a topical steriod and it will clear up in 3-5 days no joke! I have this problem myself. Also make sure you are using a very mild cleanser. Something that is sulfate free. If you are going to use a moisturizer which you need to regardless, make sure that it is oil free. Alot of times flakiness is a lack of exfoliation, keep in mind that dead skin and oil build up results in flakiness. Because I can't see your skin I couldn't tell you if its dermatitis or if its just a lack of exfoliation. When you get your facial have them recommend a skin regimen for you. Try dermalogica or somewhere that carries it for you facials if you live near an ulta they have it and it totally rocks!!
CLEAN %26amp; CLEAR advance acne wash it dries your pimples out and makes your skin really soft, then use some sort of astringent ( toner) without alcohol maybe with salicylic acid then use a good moisturizer.
This for all types of skin! Here's the way to get rid of them and keep them away! Black Soap and Shea butter. The black soap will help release the toxins in the skin and the shea butter will clear your skin. My daughter had a bad case of acne(OMG) and this helps. Here's the information:
