thank you for your adviceHow to minimize pores?
Pores are minimized (at least to the observing eye) through exfoliation. Chemical exfolation can be much more effective than physical (scrubs, washcloths, etc.).

Assuming your skin is oily, use a gentle salicylic acid product morning and night, applied with a light hand. This helps exfoliate the top layer of skin so the pores look smaller. Pores are shaped like ice-cream cones, with the widest part at the surface of your skin. When you exfoliate, you remove the top layers of skin, so the diameter of the top of the ';cone'; is smaller. Salicylic acid also removes debris from inside the pores, which causes them to appear dark and noticeable.

If this is too drying for you, try alpha hydroxy gel or lotion, or get a prescription for Retin-A. Regular maintenance is really the thing.

Disguise pores with a good powder, like the new SPF one from Clinique. It gives a matte finish and REALLY hides them well. How to minimize pores?
To minimize pores, start with exfoliating. Use a scrub like st.ives apricot scrub, which is extremely exfoliating because the exfoliates are actually natural apricot seed pieces, and not man made balls. Make sure to not be too rough because it will irritate your face. The scrub will clear out your pores at the same time, and eliminating anything in your pores will make them look smaller. When you get out of the shower, cold water on your face, and this will tighten your pores back up. Before applying makeup, apply a silicone based primer. This basically fills in all pores and fine lines, and helps your makeup adhere better. A good one (but pricey) is made by Smashbox. Let it ';soak in'; for a minute or two, and then apply your makeup. Apply your makeup at the center of your face first, and then blend outward with a brush or a sponge. When finished, apply a powder to mattify your face. If your face gets greasy during the day, carry around blotting papers, and this will help keep your pores clean.
